EDITORIAL DESigN

J.JILL

While working as both a contracted and full-time designer on the Studio and Catalog teams at J.Jill, I designed spreads for the catalog and worked collaboratively with the Merchandising, Catalog Design, Studio and Copywriting teams, (among others), to produce the catalog and bring it to fruition.

J.Jill produces two or more issues of the catalog each month, reaching a circulation of roughly 2 to 5 million copies bimonthly.

Below is a sample of the spreads I have designed.

DESIGN progression

Below are a series of spreads I designed for J.Jill’s January 2018 Sale book.

Each slideshow of images begins with the final layout and progresses retroactively to show the various stages of design iteration.

The visualization of a reversed timeline of changes from the final approved layout to the very first design is meant to show how collaborative this process can be, as well as the fickle nature of the Retail industry.

PRATT SUMMER INTENSIVE

This assignment required me to work with typography, color, and photography to design an engaging editorial spread.
